Mother and Baby

The MOTHER AND BABY series of acrylic paintings represents my return, at the age of 94, to one of my earliest painting subjects, which was represented by my series of oil paintings MOTHER AND CHILD. The current series was created by using metallic acrylic paints on a stretched canvas painted in metallic gold acrylics. I was delighted to find a stencil which conveyed, in a few strokes, the close relationship between a mother and her baby, and I tried to express that closeness by using a limited palette of paints. I used a second stencil to create the border.
