Bridges

2024 Acrylics on stretched canvas

Judith Weinshall Liberman

I painted the BRIDGES series of acrylic paintings in early 2024, when I was 94 years old. Like the mountains I had been painting recently, I have long considered bridge quite challenging to cross in reality. In this series of paintings, I used flat primary and secondary colors for the background and neutrals for the bridge. I liked to bring out the contrast between the colors of nature and those of man-made structures. I used the ancient art of stenciling for this painting.

More Bridges

I painted the MORE BRIDGES series of acrylic paintings in early 2024, when I was 94 years old. I delighted in using black for the bridge and contrasting it with white mountains, all against a flat, colorful background. I used the ancient art of stenciling for the bridge and for the mountains.

Still More Bridges

I painted the STILL MORE BRIDGES series of acrylic paintings in early 2024, when I was 94 years old. I delighted in using black for the bridge and white for the mountains, and contrasting these with a background of color gradation. I used the ancient art of stenciling for the bridge and for the mountains, with a different stencil for each. I also used a stencil to create the sun/moon.

Bridge Thru Window

I painted the BRIDGE THRU WINDOW series of acrylic paintings in early 2024, when I was 94 years old. I delighted in creating the window by using various widths of masking tape horizontally and vertically, and then using a stencil for the bridge.
