Sand, Sea, and Sky

2024 Acrylics on stretched canvas

Judith Weinshall Liberman

I painted this series of acrylic paintings when I was 94 years old. After creating numerous paintings by using stencils, I could not resist the temptation of creating paintings without the use of stencils. I had painted a similar series many years earlier on a much larger scale, and thought I would try to paint a similar series now, but on a smaller scale, since my deteriorated eyesight no longer allows me to paint large paintings. As before, I used tints of the three primary colors: Yellow for sand, blue for sea, and red (pink) for sky. I hope this series conveys my love of the beach, where I spent my summers during my youth in Haifa, Israel.
